Our catering department creates freshly prepared dishes each day in our purpose built modern kitchen facilities. We cater for a range of diets and dietary requirements. Our catering staff and chefs are all trained in food hygiene. In recent years our high standards of service have been recognised by a number of national and regional awards.
Our own catering porters aim to bring the food to the wards quickly and efficiently in specially designed heated trolleys so that the food reaches patients at the best possible standard.
We respond pro-actively to feedback. We have a catering feedback email address [email protected], so you can let us know what you have enjoyed and what could be improved.
As well as catering for inpatients on our hospital wards, there is also an onsite restaurant for outpatients, staff, volunteers and visitors, as well as cafés at Oak House main reception and at the maternity department serving a range of sandwiches, snacks and Costa coffees. The shop at Oak House sells snacks, sandwiches, coffees, newspapers and magazines. There are also a range of vending options across the site.
If you require allergen or dietary information this can be found on the patient menu ordering system. If you can`t find the information you need, or if you have any queries, please speak to ward staff who can check with one of our chefs or a member of the catering management team. In our cafes and retail outlets allergen information can normally be found on menu boards or on pre-prepared items, such as sandwiches and confectionery, this can be found on the packaging. Please speak to one of our retail team if you are unsure.
