Muslim staff who work at Stepping Hill Hospital or in local community NHS services celebrated the approaching end of Ramadan with an Iftar feast at the hospital, together with their friends, family and supporters.

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the hospital and community NHS services, laid on the banquet as to thank Muslim staff for their continued hard work and dedication during the fasting period of the season.

Prayers were also said at the event, and a tribute paid to Mahmudul Kaiser Chowdhury, a much-missed friend and colleague.

Over 370 Muslim staff work for the trust, including doctors, nurses, radiographers, pharmacists, administrators, pathology staff , and many more. Many of them were happy to join in the evening feast at the hospital’s restaurant.

The Iftar feast was organised as a joint project from many including chaplaincy and spiritual care, workforce, equality diversity and inclusion, and patient experience colleagues, together with the trust’s award-winning catering team. John Graham, Deputy Chief Executive also attended and gave a speech thanking them all for their efforts.
