Staff from Stepping Hill Hospital’s Treehouse children’s unit celebrated its 25th birthday with cakes, games and a raffle in the hospital restaurant.
The hospital children’s unit opened in 1999 and has since provided care for many thousands of children.
The cakes and raffle, with the help of the hospital’s play specialist team, was raising money for Stockport NHS Charity.
Stockport NHS Charity is the local charity for Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, dedicated to supporting every aspect of care at Stepping Hill Hospital and across local NHS community services.
The charity has supported the Treehouse many times over the years, most recently with by buying and providing new ceiling tiles and projectors for use above treatment rooms in the unit. These prove a great distraction and help relieve anxiety for children whilst receiving our care.
