Stockport NHS Foundation Trust charitable fund has been announced as the new charity partner for Sainsbury’s Hazel Grove in 2018.
The move is the response to a popular vote, where customers and members of the public were given the chance over two weeks in June to vote in store and online for the store’s new charity partner, with the Stockport NHS receiving the most votes. It follows the previous successful year of the Together Trust as the store’s chosen charity.
The Stockport NHS Foundation Trust charitable fund is for Stepping Hill Hospital and community NHS services in Stockport, and supports and improves services for patients which are usually outside the scope of the NHS. The charity`s objectives include the improvement of patient and staff welfare, advancement of medical research and provision of additional equipment.
Mark Winsor, store manager at Sainsbury’s Hazel Grove said: “We’re really excited to be working with Stockport NHS Foundation Trust supporting such a fantastic cause. Everyone at Sainsbury’s Hazel Grove is looking forward to working together for a successful partnership.”
Caroline Mitchell, Business Development Manager at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, added: “We’re delighted to be named the new Local Charity partner for Sainsbury’s Hazel Grove. We’d like to thank everyone who voted for us, becoming the Local Charity partner is a real positive for the Trust and hopefully will make a huge difference to us.”
