Join us and you could live and work in a region boasting the best of music, media, the arts, sport and education, meaning opportunities and activities for all the family.

The leafy suburbs on Stockport have a large range of attractive, high quality and affordable housing supported by a large number of excellent primary, secondary and independent schools plus places of worship for many faiths. Stockport has a good choice of further education colleges and with three world-class universities on the doorstep - it`s an excellent place to study.

Each Stockport suburb has its own distinct identity, offering a lifestyle to suit everyone and a host of different shops, retail shopping malls, restaurants and leisure activities to explore.

Stockport also boasts plenty of family-friendly walking, cycling and horse-riding routes plus over 35 parks which include adventure playgrounds, tennis courts, fishing lakes and bowling greens. Sports and leisure activities are well represented too with world-class football, rugby, cricket, swimming and cycling stadiums all within a few miles.

Stockport is also home to heritage, innovation and a diverse business community. It is also home to some of the world`s leading brands and businesses with a high percentage of family owned businesses.

With Manchester city centre only seven miles away, the area offers the attractions of one the world`s most innovative and fastest growing cities combined with easy access to Cheshire, North Wales, Liverpool and the Peak and Lake Districts. Our region also benefits from good public transport links, good connections to Manchester international airport and the city centre with a train journey to London taking just two hours.

Significant investment over the last 20 years has transformed Greater Manchester into one of the UK`s most innovative and modern urban hubs. The relocation of staff from the BBC and other leading media organisations to Media City cements the region’s status as an affordable and attractive proposition for employment and home life alike.

The people in our organisation are one of our most valuable assets. It`s the people who provide care, develop relationships and make important decisions. We have a wide range of dedicated and skilled people working for us in both clinical and non-clinical settings. Our people share our vision and demonstrate our values and values based behaviours that we advocate to our patients. Find out what it`s like to work at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust by viewing some of our staff profiles on this page. As the profiles show, the roles they perform are challenging, rewarding and varied with no two days are the same.
