Swanbourne Gardens is a purpose built, fully adapted respite facility in a residential housing part of Stockport. The facility is equipped with  hoists, ramps, specialist bathroom facilities and a range of toys, apparatus and equipment. We offer short breaks and overnight stays for children and young people, aged 0 to 19 with complex health needs.

The facility offers children and young people the opportunity for short break activities and to stay overnight, away from their families. Swanbourne Gardens offers a range of activities that children can engage in with the help and support of fully trained and experienced support workers.  

Swanbourne Gardens has:

• A newly refurbished, modern sensory room
• An activity and play room
• An enclosed outside play area with wheelchair swing
• Overnight facilities
• A wide range of play based activities such as DVD’s, computers and messy play
• Two adapted mini bus so children can go out on visits in the local community.

Swanbourne Gardens provides respite and support for four children. Children who receive an overnight respite package will have all their social care, severe disability and additional health needs met. 

Swanbourne Gardens:

• Brings together children who have comparable cognitive ability to take part in fun and leisure activities such as computer games, arts & crafts, music or just relaxing. 
• Provides day trips out and parents and their families will input their ideas into the range of trips and activities that are available.
• Provides an opportunity for children and young people to have fun and spend time with others, away from the home environment building friendship and developing life skills.
• Helps children and their families enjoy and achieve in a healthy, safe and supportive environment.

We are a small and friendly team based in a quiet residential area of Stockport. Our team strives to provide children with gold standard care at all times, meeting each childs individual needs. We also tailor unique continuing care packages built on individual choice, which enable both social care and community-led activities embracing opportunities for young people in Stockport who use Swanbourne Gardens. As part of Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, we also have access to health care services based at Stepping Hill Hospital and in the wider community.
