Awards for Making A Difference

13 Oct 2025 - Press Release

Fantastic care and dedication in local NHS services were celebrated as Stockport NHS Foundation Trust held its annual Making A Difference awards on the evening of Friday 10th October.

The event was at Stockport Town Hall, with the awards of the evening hosted by local Greatest Hits Radio presenter Andy Crane.

They recognised outstanding care and commitment in both hospital and  community NHS services, and included a celebration dinner and disco for everyone shortlisted.

Staff from across local health services were among those shortlisted, as well as volunteers and members of the public involved with fundraising for Stockport NHS Charity. The awards were nominated by both fellow colleagues within Stockport’s NHS and members of the public.

The celebrations were funded by sponsorship from local companies and from Stockport NHS Charity.

The evening’s wine sponsors CDW, Broderick’s, Gig Stuff, Ascendant Lifts and Escalators, Bates, Meel Group, NHS Professionals, Paul Bentley Wholesale, Ralph Livesey Ltd, Ricoh, Socamel, Spark TSL, Talar Made, Griffiths and Armour, SF Taylor and Queensland Bakery.

The awards were presented by Stockport NHS Foundation Trust Chair David Wakefield and Chief Executive Karen James OBE, together with representatives of the sponsors.

Karen said: “This was a fantastic evening of celebration, and a great way to show our thanks for teams and individuals who have gone above and beyond in their compassion, commitment and care. It is individuals and teams such as these who make us all proud to work in the NHS.   I’d like to thank Andy Crane for being a brilliant presenter, and to Stockport NHS Charity and all our sponsors for making the evening possible.”
