An associate director in Stepping Hill Hospital’s estates and facilities team has won a major national award within the industry for outstanding leadership.

Dan Reason, Associate Director of Estates and Facilities for Stockport NHS Foundation Trust won the ‘Leader of the Year’ trophy at the annual awards from the Health Estates and Facilities Management Association (HEFMA), held at their National Leadership Forum at the  Telford International Centre.

Dan began work at the Stockport NHS Foundation Trust estates and facilities team in 2017 and was promoted to his current role in 2019.

The award recognises his leadership during changing and challenging times for the hospital estate in recent years, which has included the pandemic, the implementation of multiple compliance standards, and major building projects, including the recently completed emergency and urgent care campus, and the upcoming new outpatients building.

His leadership style is characterised by a strong sense of vision, a willingness to take calculated risks and a passion for delivering high-quality services.
