Two chefs working who work at Stepping Hill Hospital’s catering team have taken the runner-up prize in the national ‘NHS Chefs of the Year’ contest.

Michelle Robinson and Slavka Vaysilova won the second prize overall against competition from across the country in the annual contest run by NHS England to find the best standards in NHS catering.

The final stage of the competition saw the pair competing against seven other sets of finalists during a gruelling five-day cookery competition held in York.

They both received warm congratulations from all their colleagues in the Stockport NHS catering team.  The team as a whole have won a number of national and regional awards recognising their high standards in recent years, and were once again accredited as an ‘exemplar site’ by NHS England earlier in the year.
