Local NHS colleagues showed their support for the LGBTQI+ community at this year’s Stockport Pride celebrations in the town centre.

Staff from Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Stepping Hill Hospital and local community NHS services, set out the stall alongside many others in the market hall showing the support they offer for LGBTQI+ colleagues and patients, and promoting recruitment opportunities that the trust has to offer.

Many others were out too for Stockport Pride, an annual celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and intersex community. The day included a colourful parade through the town centre which was joined by NHS colleagues.

Top entertainment on the day included a set from Rowetta, formerly of the Happy Mondays, and a performance from actor, television personality and drag performer Kitty Scott-Claus , who has been a fan favourite from BBC`s RuPaul`s Drag Race UK.

As always the day combined information and support together with fun and entertainment. Other organisations there in support including the Creative Support,  LGBT Foundation, Age UK Stockport, St Ann`s Hospice, the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, Totally Stockport, the Vernon Building Society, the Stockport Homes Group, Adoption Counts from Stockport MBC, BASF and the Lottery Community Fund.
