Staff from Stockport NHS Foundation Trust were out and proud in the town centre to show their support for Stockport Pride.

Colleagues from the trust, which runs Stepping Hill Hospital and local community NHS services, were among hundreds of others along for the big event which is an annual celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and intersex community. It featured live music, drag queens and rainbow flags brightening up the town centre.

Stockport Pride centred around the main parade, which saw crowds march from the Underbanks in Stockport town centre, and also included a full schedule of on-stage performers and with a range of festivities including a silent disco, drag story time and a mobile cocktail van.

As well as entertainment there was information on hand too, and Stockport NHS Foundation Trust had an information stand among others in the market place, which included opportunities for recruitment and joining in clinical research. The Stockport Health branch of Unison, including staff members from the trust, were also on display.

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust was one of the first NHS trusts in the region to sign up to the All Equals Charter supporting LGBTQI+ equality across Greater Manchester, and also has an active staff network for its LGBTQI+ colleagues.
