Colleagues working at a local NHS respite centre for disabled children and their families made a big leap to help it out.
Staff from Swanbourne Gardens took part in a big charity skydive to raise money via Stockport NHS Charity.
Swanbourne Gardens is the only centre of its kind in the North West providing short breaks for children with learning disabilities and complex health needs. Run by Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, the centre is a welcoming and relaxing environment for children, and can accommodate overnight stays as well as offering respite and day care.
Four team members bravely took part in the white knuckle skydive of 15,000 feet over Cockerham in Lancashire, organised via the Black Knights Parachute Centre. Two more members are still set to make their jump.
The money raised from the Skydive will help support the team creating memory- making trips out, new experiences and fun activities for the children.
The team have raised over £1400 so far, but are still accepting donations. If you’d like to donate then visit this link here. If you’re interested in organising your own fundraising to support the children of Swanbourne Gardens, then e-mail charity@stockport.nhs.uk
