Stockport NHS Charity has launched October 2022 as Make A Will Month for those who want to support their local NHS after they are gone.
The message is that just 1% in your will could make all the difference to local NHS services in Stockport. After providing for your loved ones, a gift to Stockport NHS Charity is another way of showing how much you care - because small or large; your gift will help improve health and wellbeing for local patients and families.
Stockport NHS Charity exists to improve the health and wellbeing of patients in both Stepping Hill Hospital and local community services by delivering services above and beyond ordinary standards. Its aim is to help patients get better quicker and stay well for longer and experience the best possible care.
Gifts to the charity in recent years have enabled the purchase of a life-changing and life-saving enhanced CT Scanner, the creation of a relaxing and nurturing Therapeutic Garden for patients recovering from a stroke, and a hoist to enable children with severe disabilities and complex life limiting illnesses at the Swanbourne House respite centre.
Kate Leadbeater, the new Charity Manager said “I’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donates to our charity. Many of the gifts we receive are from people who want to ‘give something back’ to the hospital at Stepping Hill Hospital and our community teams, out of gratitude for the care and support they have received or to say thank you for the care of a loved one. Making a donation in your will is a simple and effective way of doing this.”
“Whether it’s putting a smile on the faces of the children at Swanbourne Gardens or patients on our stroke ward, it really can make all the difference. Once you’ve taken care of your loved ones, a gift of any size could help change the lives of future generations.”
