Stepping Hill Hospital continues to carry out Covid-19 vaccinations in its role as a Greater Manchester hub for the vaccine. Along with the primary groups of the over 80s and care home workers, some NHS staff in ‘at risk’ groups have been receiving the vaccination as well. One of these is Jo Gardiner, a specialist physiotherapist who became well known to viewers across the country earlier in the year due to her appearance with her son Sam on the show ‘Race Across the World’ as they raced against other competitors across South and Central America.

Jo experienced lymphoma, a form of blood cancer earlier in the year. Thankfully Jo’s lymphoma is now in remission but she has been shielding through much of the year, although she has still been carrying out physio consultations online.  She says she is really happy to be receiving her vaccination as a step towards getting back to normal.
