Our maternity department now has 10 new innovative newBaby Lifeline bags to help them with efficiency in their care.
Baby lifeline bags standardise equipment carried by midwives for births in the community and provide clear processes to keep equipment and supplies fully stocked and up to date. The bags are divided into eleven colour coded compartments, and each compartment contains everything needed for that specific stage of labour and birth, including emergencies.
With colour coded pouches so that midwives can find what they need quickly and easily, the bags save valuable time in life-threatening emergencies and support patient safety. As the bags are standardised, it makes it easy for second, or ‘buddy’ midwives to support the lead midwife, and if a section is not needed, it is not opened, therefore preserving its integrity and reducing infection, making it a safer option for patients and reducing waste.
