Stockport NHS staff who care for the health and wellbeing of others received support for their own during a special event day for all colleagues.
Stockport NHS Foundation Trust organised a staff health and wellbeing roadshow day in their training and education centre at Stepping Hill Hospital.
Advice was available on physical & mental health, exercise, menopause support, staff benefits and rights, equality and diversity, staff networks, library services, improving our environment, quitting smoking, reducing drinking and more.
A number of partners took part too, including Healthy Stockport, Life Leisure, Living Nature, The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare, Armed Forces Reserve, trade unions Unison, Unite and RCN, and the trust’s own Stockport NHS Charity. Chief Executive Karen James OBE was also among those attending.
Hand massages, sound baths and pain relief sessions were also available on the day, as well as support dogs from Pets as Therapy
Colleagues from both the hospital and community were also told about the psychological wellbeing and counselling services to which they have access.
A large number of staff attended and good feedback was received.
