Stockport’s wheelchair services are presenting an open day on their providing, assessment and support services for wheelchair users in Stockport.

The day is for any wheelchair user, their friends and family, as well as for the health and social care staff who work with them.

Visitors will get the chance to see the new specialist ‘driving course’ powered wheelchair assessment area for users; the only one of its kind from the NHS in the north west, and one of the first in the country.

Centre staff will be on hand to answer questions and queries.

The day includes:

• A full range of wheelchairs locally available throughout the day
• Powered wheelchair demonstrations throughout the day
• A case presentation on the latest power wheelchair technology (11:00am)
• Specialised seating demonstrations (10:30am, 1:00pm, 3:00pm)
• Special presentation on chairs available (11:30am, 2:00pm)
• A demonstration of pressure mapping (11:30am, 2:00pm)
