Stockport Breastfeeding


 

 

Welcome to the Breastfeeding Stockport website. It’s never too early to start thinking about how you`re going to feed your baby.

Today, most women in England are choosing to breastfeed because:

  • Breast milk is the only natural food designed for your baby.
  • Breastfeeding protects your baby from infections and diseases.
  • Breast milk provides health benefits for your baby.
  • Breastfeeding provides health benefits for mum.
  • It’s free and available whenever and wherever your baby needs a feed.
  • It’s the right temperature.
  • It can build a strong physical and emotional bond between mother and baby.
  • It can give you a great sense of achievement.

Helpful advice and information from Breastfeeding Stockport

This site has been developed to offer breastfeeding guidance and support for mothers in the Stockport area. We have split this site into seven key areas to provide up-to-date information for you:

 

Breastfeeding groups in the Stockport area 

The groups are drop-in so please feel welcome to call in, between the stated times.

Partners, family members and siblings are welcome at all the groups across Stockport.

Monday

Stockport Town Centre, Debenhams Cafe, Princess Street, Stockport SK1 1TS

(9.45am-11.30am)

 A member of the infant feeding team will be attending this group

Tuesday

Woodley Health Centre, Hyde Road, Woodley SK6 1ND

( within the child health clinic)

( 9.30am - 11.30am)

Term Time Only (see school term times here)

 Place to Eat` café, 1st floor, Wilmslow Road, Cheadle SK8 3BZ 

A member of the Infant Feeding team will be attending this group

( 9.30am - 11.30am)

Wednesday   

Marple Clinic, Memorial Park, Marple SK6 6BA

( 9.30am - 11.3am)

Term Time Only (see school term times here)

Antenatal Clinic, Stepping Hill Hospital, Poplar Grove, Stockport SK2 7JE

The infant feding team will be attending this group

 (1.00pm – 4.00pm)

Friday

Reddish Vale Children’s Centre, Reddish Vale Road, Reddish SK5 7EU

(12.30pm – 2.30pm)

Abacus Children`s Centre 120 Garners Lane, Adswood, SK3 8QW

A member of the infant feeding team will be attending this group

(1.00pm - 2.30pm)

The Sensory Room is available for use at the Abacus Breastfeeding Group
