Corporate Nursing
Nurses form the largest group of staff in our trust and are a crucial part of our health care team. Nurses work in every sort of health setting from accident and emergency to patients' homes, with people of all ages and backgrounds. If you want to work in an environment that's interesting, rewarding and challenging, a career in nursing has plenty to offer.
Our midwives often describe their job as 'privileged'. The role they have in preparing women for the delivery of new life makes them a vital presence during all stages of pregnancy, labour and the early postnatal period. As well as the obvious satisfaction it brings, this unique role is demanding and carries plenty of responsibility. Our
maternity department delivers over 3,600 babies each year with more midwives now working in the community, providing services in women's homes, local clinics, children's centres and GP surgeries.
Our nursing and midwifery registered team are engaged and involved in our decisions and recognised for the outstanding contribution they make. Our commitment to supporting them is reflected in good results in the national annual staff survey.
A leaflet for patients, carers and the public called
Raising concerns about a nurse or midwife explains the Nursing and Midwifery Councils role and how patients, carers and the public can raise a concern about a nurse or midwife.
