Our estates team work together to make sure that the hospital environment is a safe, welcoming place for the benefit of patients, visitors and staff.

Our estates department contributes to the business of Stockport NHS Foundation Trust by ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the building, engineering systems and vital patient connected equipment. Our estates team ensure that the hospital environment for patients, visitors and staff is maintained to highest standards. We safeguard that buildings are fit for purpose by commissioning developments and improvements in line with the Trust's patient-centred business objectives.

From making sure that all waste is quickly and properly disposed of to keeping the grounds restful and attractive, we are active in making Stepping Hill Hospital as pleasant as possible for patients, visitors and staff. 

Our estates staff work in a range of locations, depending upon their specific job, including:

  • on and around our hospital site 
  • community health centres (where applicable)
  • in a workshop
  • outdoors, in the grounds of the hospital building.

Environmental Information Regulations enable similar access to environmental information as under the Freedom of Information Act. Environmental information may feature in all classes of the Trust's Publication Scheme.
