As the safety of patients, staff and the local community is our priority, high COVID-19 infection rates meant that we recently took the step of temporarily restricting visiting to inpatient wards at Stepping Hill Hospital and our other hospital facilities. Now that the COVID-19 infection rate in both the hospital and the local community has reduced, as of Wednesday 17th November, the decision has been made to gradually re-introduce routine hospital visiting.
To ensure we remain vigilant, we recommend that visiting starts after the patient has been in hospital for more than five days, except in exceptional circumstances. Visits before the five day period need to be made following agreement with the ward in question, who need to be contacted directly.
Visiting remains limited to one person for half an hour between the times of 11-12pm, 2-3pm and 7-8pm. Social distancing and the wearing of face masks are still in place.
For further details on visiting see our visitor information page.
We thank everyone for their continued patience and understanding during this time.
