You can find us on the first floor of Pinewood House. The library has a first-rate collection of books and journals along with a quiet study area and access to computers with printing and photocopying facilities. Library staff are always happy to help if you have any questions.

Opening hours
Access to the library is 24/7 with your Trust staff ID card.
Books can be borrowed, returned and renewed using the self-issue machine on the library front desk.
Library membership
You can join the library if you are working or on placement at an NHS trust within Greater Manchester. You will need to come to the library with your NHS ID badge or a recent payslip to complete a membership form.

Inter-Library Loans (ILL)
If you can’t find the book or journal article you need in the library or in our online collections, we can request a copy from another library for you. To request a book or article, email [email protected]
Literature Search Service
If you are looking for evidence to support your clinical or non-clinical decision-making, we offer literature searches to save you time finding the evidence base. The Library can offer:

Current Awareness
Current awareness updates can help you stay up to date with the latest evidence in your field. We offer email bulletins which bring together recently published research, news and guidelines on your area of interest. We can also set up Table of Contents alerts (eTOCs) for journals which will send you the contents list whenever a new issue is published.

Training

Library Books
Library Catalogue
The library catalogue is on the hospital intranet and can be accessed via the library microsite or through all Trust applications. The catalogue will show you if a book is available and the class number for where to find it in the library.
E-Books
The library also has e-book collections, which you can access online from wherever you are, whenever you need them. To access e-books, you will need to log in with your OpenAthens account. Royal Marsden Manual of Clinical and Cancer Nursing Procedures
The Royal Marsden Manual includes over 350 evidence-based clinical procedures related to every aspect of care.
VLEbooks
Over 1,000 e-books on clinical and non-clinical topics.
Kortext Ebooks
Over 200 clinical and non-clinical ebooks including resilience, sustainability and inclusion collections. Choose sign up through institution to log in with OpenAthens.
