Local health heroes are celebrating being shortlisted for new awards recognising the best of healthcare in Stockport.
The Stockport Health and Care Awards recognise the contribution of anyone who has worked, or volunteered, for a Stockport health and care organisation during the pandemic.
Organised by Stockport Council, NHS Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, the awards were open for nominations for anyone from the local public to show their appreciation. The awards received a warm response with over 300 nominations being received.
Those shortlisted for the awards have now been announced. Staff, volunteers and students working for Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Stepping Hill Hospital and community NHS services received 19 shortlisted entries, with those being awarded across a whole range of occupations and services.
Others working in Stockport health and care settings have also been recognised. The winners will be announced at a prize-giving ceremony at Stockport Town Hall on Tuesday, 23rd November, 2021.
Karen James OBE, Chief Executive for Stockport NHS Foundation Trust said “It has been very touching to see people in Stockport show their appreciation for those working in local health and care by nominating them for these awards. The last two years have been an immense challenge for us all, and I know those working in our services will be honoured to be recognised for their efforts in this way. We look forward to the Stockport Health and Care Awards final and wish the best to all those taking part, and everyone who took the time to nominate too.”
