Background / Profile
I graduated in 1993 and then completed my Masters in Surgery followed by an MD from the University of Leicester. I am a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. I am and General and Colorectal surgeon with special interest in Bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal endometriosis surgery, Pelvic floor disorders and rectal prolapse.
I introduced Laparoscopic surgery at Stepping Hill Hospital when I joined here as Consultant surgeon in January 2010. I also developed the Enhanced recovery after Surgery (ERAS) protocols for the hospital and commenced Robotic Colorectal surgery at the Trust for the first time around eight years ago.
I am also Honorary senior lecturer in surgery at the university and have been training resident doctors in surgery as well as my consultant colleagues in robotic surgery.
