Position/Title: Consultant Gastroenterologist and Accredited Bowel Cancer Screening Colonoscopist
Department: Gastroenterology and Endoscopy
Specialism: General and luminal gastroenterology, including gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease and Barrett’s oesophagus surveillance. Bowel cancer screening and diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy and endoscopic mucosal resection of polyps.
Memberships: British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG), European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) and United European Gastroenterology (UEG). I am also listed on the General Medical Council Specialist Register in Gastroenterology.
Background / Profile
I have been an NHS Consultant Gastroenterologist since 2016 and am based at Stepping Hill Hospital. I have served as Clinical Lead for Endoscopy for five years, with responsibility for clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety.
I diagnose and treat a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease. I have particular expertise in Barrett’s oesophagus surveillance, bowel cancer screening, and diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
