Background / Profile
Dr Ismail qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1989. He trained in Metabolic bone disease in the Greater Manchester area.
He has been a Consultant in Rheumatology and Osteoporosis management at Stockport NHS Trust since the year 2000.
Dr Ismail established the Osteoporosis Service in Stockport in 2004 and more recently, a Fracture Prevention Nurse Led Service. He is the current Director of the Osteoporosis Service in Stockport and receives osteoporosis referrals both locally and regionally, often from GPs, orthopaedic surgeons and other clinicians wanting further help with management of their patients.
He has an approachable manner, makes patients feel relaxed during consultations and has very good communication skills.
