These services are provided through its contracting, operational and materials management teams.
The teams are recognised for a strong culture of staff development through accreditation at the highest level with the national OneNHS Finance scheme. They are also accredited employers for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) with the major UK accounting bodies.
The Procurement Team has been ranked “Best” in the Cabinet Office Procurement Assessment Standards. This recognises that commercial governance is thoroughly aligned with the organisation’s governance.
Financial Management
The team supports managers across the Trust to make the best use of their resources. It does this by providing high quality financial information on a monthly basis on income and expenditure. Furthermore, this includes reporting to our assurance committee and the Trust board.
Financial Services
The team produces the Trust’s statutory annual accounts and charity accounts. An essential part of the team’s role is to manage the cash and banking position for the Trust. This team also support the management of the Trust’s charity, the capital programme and the asset register. Invoice payments are processed within the team, as well as sales invoice production and debt recovery.
Income and contracting
This team ensures the receipt of income due to the Trust. This is through its clinical contracts and service level agreements.
Costing
This team ensures the statutory production of the Trust’s cost collection returns and maintains the Patient Level Costing system. They also provide advice on using the national model hospital and benchmarking systems.
Procurement
This team ensures that all goods and services for the Trust are procured in line with national standards and its own Procurement Policy.
