Information Governance (IG) is the name given to a framework of legislation and guidance which ensures that the Trust safeguards patient information. It covers internal policies, procedures, processes and controls ensuring that the Trust meets its obligations under the Data Protection Act (2018), the EU General Data Protection Regulations (May 2018) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) as well as the Freedom of Information Act (2000) which ensures the Trust remains open and transparent about its corporate information.
