Background / Profile
Mr. Paul Cleaveland is fellowship trained consultant urologist and high volume robotic surgeon. He has a subspecialty interest in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate and bladder cancers.
Having completed specialty training in urology he went onto a fellowship in robotic surgery for pelvic urological oncology at the University College London Hospitals Foundation Trust, the highest volume centre in the UK. This involved training in robotic radical prostatectomy, robotic cystectomy, robotic urinary diversions and open complex pelvic and reconstructive surgery for the treatment of pelvic cancers. He is a high volume surgeon who performs Retzius-sparing robotic prostatectomy which helps improve recovery of functional outcomes. He also manages general urological conditions including benign prostatic hyperplasia.
He has been audit lead and cancer lead for the department. He is actively involved in training urology specialty trainees and is actively involved in quality improvement and research.
