Stockport NHS Foundation Trust’s Finance and Procurement team have been shortlisted for three prestigious regional awards for facilitating the successful delivery of exceptional health services whilst achieving value for money.
The NHS North West Excellence in Supply Awards recognises individuals and teams who have procured goods and services aiding the delivery of high quality, effective and efficient patient care within a tough financial climate; helping the health service to do more for less.
The Finance and Procurement team is a finalist in the ‘NHS Supplier Engagement’ category. The team worked in conjunction with Biomet, a leading orthopaedic supplier, allowing Stepping Hill Hospital’s surgical department to save in excess of £120,000 on trauma implants alone.
The Finance and Procurement team in conjunction with the Human Resources team are finalists in the ‘Innovation Non Clinical’ award for the work around reducing spending on locum doctors, with savings of more than £600,000 made.
And Contracts and Purchasing Manager Mark Worrall has been shortlisted in the ‘Rising Star’ category for achieving savings in excess of £200,000 and demonstrating innovative procurement and commercial awareness skills during the last 12 months across a range of clinical and corporate specialities.
