A workforce dedicated to caring for others was encouraged to take time to care for themselves at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust’s staff health and wellbeing day.
Nursing, medical, pharmacist, therapist admin and many other staff took part in a range of activities dedicated to promoting health and wellbeing; from blood pressure and other health checks and relaxation therapy taster sessions to a whole range of advice on exercise, counselling, healthy eating, and help to reducing alcohol intake and stop smoking.
Partners including Life Leisure and Stockport MIND were on hand to offer additional advice on both physical and mental wellbeing, while union Unison were present with information on staff rights and welfare.
There were also more recreational staff discounts on offer including those from the Body Shop, motorhome hire firm Swift Go and local perfume retailers.
Greg Moores, Director of Workforce and Organisational Development said “Our staff are fantastic and work incredibly hard taking care of our patients, but it is important they take care of themselves too. Today was about sharing with our staff the many ways we can help and support in looking after their health, and their physical and mental wellbeing.”
