Improved workforce data efficiency means shortlisting for national award

20 Apr 2022 - Press Release

A new workforce IT system which has hugely improved efficiency in Stockport NHS Foundation Trust’s Human Resources (HR) team has made it eligible for a national award.

The HR department are finalists at the British Data Awards in recognition of their online analytics system, which was installed in January 2021 by the HR team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Stepping Hill Hospital and community NHS services in the area.

The system has allowed information to be accessed by colleagues in a more user-friendly way, allowing reports with key HR information to be accessed and shared with clinical teams quickly and more easily. With reduced reporting pressure on HR teams, more time freed up to focus on areas to improve, resulting in positive impacts both for the trust’s workforce, and its patients.

The team have come ahead of many other nominations to be nominated, and not just from the NHS. The British Data Awards were set up the Predatech information company,  to uncover and celebrate data success stories in all sectors across the nation. Organisations taking part include FTSE 100 giants, public sector pioneers,  not for profit organisations, innovative start-ups and others.

Amanda Bromley, Director of People & Organisational Development  for Stockport NHS Foundation Trust said “The new system has been a huge boost for efficiency for our HR team, as well as giving clinical teams the ability to access the information more readily. I’d like to thank the team for its implementation, and I’m delighted to see them recognised at the British Data Awards.”

Jason Johnson, Co-Founder of Predatech and British Data Awards judge said: “The standard of entries received this year has been particularly high, which has made judging a great privilege, but also a real challenge. All the Finalists should be incredibly proud of their achievements, and for helping to remind us of the sheer talent and ingenuity that makes the UK such a global powerhouse for all things data.”

The winners of the British Data Awards will be announced at a ceremony in London on May 19th.
