NHS staff providing outstanding services for patients in Stockport are receiving awards, as part of a new campaign to celebrate excellent care.
Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Stepping Hill Hospital and local community NHS services, is presenting ‘Proud2Care’ certificates to individuals and teams who are going gone above and beyond to deliver the highest quality care.
One of the first recipients was Steph Kerfoot, the nurse manager of Stepping Hill Hospital’s ambulatory care unit where patients who don’t need an overnight stay are treated.
Steph was honoured for helping to reduce rates of kidney and sepsis infections.
Ruth Holt, interim Director of Nursing who presented Steph with her certificate said,
"Thank you are two of the most important words that you can say to someone.
"NHS staff come to work every day to make a difference, but this campaign is about recognising and applauding their amazing accomplishments. Its a celebration of their drive, energy and passion to provide better quality, safer care and a better experience for those who use their services.
"We always need to care for those who care for others".
Stockport NHS Foundation Trust has 5000 staff and sees over half a million patients a year.
