Stepping Hill Hospital staff were among those honoured for their dedication and heroism in the aftermath of the Manchester Arena attack at a special ceremony.
The NHS Expo event, addressed by national NHS leader Simon Stevens, included the Kate Granger Awards for outstanding care, named after a doctor who did much to promote personalised care for patients.
Nursing staff Charlotte Brownhill and Joe O’Brien, who treated victims of the bombing on the night, and pharmacist Haseeb Khan, who volunteered through the night to ensure emergency service workers received food and refreshments, were among those recognised at the ceremony. The trio were accepting the honours on behalf of all the NHS workforce who performed outstandingly on the night.
