Stepping Hill Hospital nurse Becky Wakefield is getting used to seeing her face around town at the moment.
That’s because she’s one of several nurses fronting a brand new recruitment campaign for the hospital, and whose images are hitting the roads on back of its delivery vans.
The vans, which deliver blood samples and medicines to GP surgeries, pharmacies and hospitals across the north west now carry adverts asking for nurses to join the team. Van drivers will also be taking photographs of their vans as they stop off in locations across the north west to post on Twitter.
Becky, 24 years old from Heaton Moor said, “It’s a bit weird seeing my face in so many places, but I love my job at Stepping Hill Hospital so I’m really proud to be part of the campaign.”
The recruitment campaign is also being promoted on social media and websites. There are a wide range of jobs opportunities for trained nurses at both the hospital and in the community in Stockport. Around 1800 nurses work at both Stepping Hill Hospital and in the community, and they have won a number of national awards for the outstanding care they provide.
Judith Morris, director of nursing and midwifery said, “We’re getting the message out there that we’re looking for nurses to join our award winning teams. We think we have a huge amount to offer nurses, from excellent training and development to flexible working alongside a host of other benefits. If you care for others, we’ll care for you.”
