A number of colleagues from across Stockport NHS Foundation Trust have got their running shoes ready for the big Manchester 10K race and the half marathon.
22 members of staff in total are taking part in the race from departments across Stepping Hill Hospital and the community, including the emergency department, clinical and surgical teams, respiratory physiology, clinical audit, and the staff psychology service.
Several will be fundraising for the Stockport NHS Charity, which helps to improve the health and wellbeing of patients by delivering services above and beyond ordinary standards.
The runs take place on Sunday 21st May with the events starting at Portland Street and finishing on Deansgate. This is the 20th AJ Bell GM run which takes in some of Manchester’s iconic landmarks such as the Imperial War Museum and Old Trafford Football Ground. Along all routes there is incredible support from local DJs and community groups encouraging runners with music and other entertainment.
Due to the pandemic and lockdown, this will be the first time Stockport NHS runners have taken part since 2019, and they’re all looking forward to the big run.
