Stepping Hill Hospital’s A&E staff got a surprise treat when a group of local Brownies brought in home-made chocolate cake during a busy evening shift.
The 12th Bramhall Methodist Brownies baked a large number of tasty cakes to earn their ‘Helping Hands’ challenge badge, which included supporting workers in the emergency services.
Brownie leader ‘Barn Owl’ Judith Sandford said, “The aim of the challenge was to help those who help others, and all the Brownies were really happy to bake these cakes for people who spend their working lives supporting patient in need, they truly deserved it.”
Senior emergency department (A&E) sister Phillipa Oliver said, “We were so touched at this sweet gesture from the Brownies, which was a lovely boost on a busy evening.”
