Opting Out

As a patient and user of our services, you have the right to opt out of certain information processing such as, for example, when data is used for analysis purposes to improve our services – you have the right to opt out.  This means that we will not be able to include your details in this exercise.

The Trust does collect, store and work with personal and sensitive data to meet its public functions as a healthcare provider, or to help other organisations, such as the police, or the Metropolitan Council to do the same. This is not a consent based processing and so you are not able to opt out of this sharing.

For example, you would not be able to opt a child out of any child protection system the Trust operates as we have a legal obligation to safeguard children; this is a documented process and so we will hold this information on our secure systems.

If you feel any of our processing is causing you undue harm or distress you can inform us via email at information.governance@stockport.nhs.uk and we will respond.

To check whether you can withdraw your consent for any processing please email information.governance@stockport.nhs.uk with the service and information involved and we will get back to you, with appropriate advice and guidance.
